Somewhere Photoshop

Image
I chose to do the film The Thing  (1982) for my Somewhere Photoshop project. I have to personal attachment to this film to be honest. I originally wanted to do The Lighthouse  or Chappie , but I did not have good outfits to uses to fit the "aesthetic" of those films. I don't take many photos of myself, but when I went on a trip to Chicago, I took quite a few. In the photo I was struggling to zip up my coat zipper, so I let out a good yell. I felt that I matched the apparel and tone of The Thing  (1982) after Mac shoots a fellow human. After learning how to properly mask in Photoshop, I felt that this assignment was fairly simple. I personally felt that leaving myself more illuminated made sense because I am standing right under the light, and I am the only one wearing brighter clothes.

BW to Color

Image
My original image (above) was taken by my partner at a gala for her work. I was holding an old fashioned and feeling a little bit tipsy. I chose this image because I really like how my suit was fitting me, and it was the only image of myself I had taken over the weekend. I liked using a lot of cool colors because I think they look the best. My "skill" definitely needs to be refined, but after struggling for a week I finally got it.

Photoshop Homework #3

Image
Photoshop Homework 3 I choose to focus on this image because it reminded me of a comic book cover. The artist looks like a self-insert for the Flash. Why I think that this would be hard is because I don't know how I would effectively use the speed lines. The lights also pop and are very vibrant. This image inspired me for the somewhere project because I love Once Upon a Time in Hollywood . That is basically the entire reason. I just thoroughly enjoy that film. James Fridman made me laugh with this image because it is relatable. I remember when dabbing was a big thing and how everyone was annoyed by it and hated people who did it. This illusion is incredibly simple to do and is used a whole bunch of times in film. I have Legos at home that I know I could create something similar with.

Galindo Tag Print

I do not have a set color that I would want my Logo Tag to be just yet. I think that it depends on what color my final piece would be that I am placing it over. I like the lighter color look to it, however. I used spray 5 as my background and then erased all of the droplets because I did not like how they looked with the outline. Below is my basic black and white design that I have really come around to liking besides the bottom of it.

Photoshop Homework #2

Image
An image from the Abstract: The Art of Design | Platon: Photography  that brings me close emotion would have to be the photo of a little migrant girl with the shirt saying Free My Dad. I am Hispanic and my grandparents were immigrants when they first moved to the United States. This definitely hits close to home for me because my sister works with immigration law as well. It is her job to get work visas for people coming into the country. My whole family knows or can relate to this struggle, but the "Free My Dad" statements is also depressing. One may look at it from a criminalization standpoint, or it could be that her father was an illegal immigrant, but she was born in the United States. The photograph I chose for myself being connected to the world was taken last week. I was a guest with my partner for a black-tie gala at the Tampa Union Station. I had never been to a red-carpet event before, so I got to meet a lot of important figures in the Tampa Bay are as well as con

Photoshop Homework #1

PHOTOSHOP | Clone Stamp Tool - Adobe Photoshop Tutorial for Beginners - Bing video In this very brief photoshop tutorial the narrator teaches the audience how to use the Clone Stamp Tool. I found this particularly useful because when we previously used work in illustrator, I found it difficult to precisely make a copy of something without using the copy and paste keyboard instruction. This tool could potentially save a lot of time by cutting out the need to put points in very specific places. I think it will be useful when I want to make a mirror image. What I am a little confused on is if the picture needs to be perfectly parallel on each side. Learn Photoshop in 5 MINUTES! Beginner Tutorial - Bing video This video tutorial reminded me a lot of Adobe Illustrator. There are a lot of the same concepts and similar control schemes. What is new to me because I have not used this program before is the personalization of its features. You can add on filters or distortions with ease. What I

Self-Portrait and Propaganda Poster

Image
Propaganda Poster Self-Portrait Image For my self-portrait image I decided to take advantage of the fact that I had a job interview, so I was able to dress in a suit to look nice. What I did not anticipate was how difficult the black colors would look on Adobe Illustrator. My hair is a very dark brown, so it tends to come out as black in photographs. I also tried to use the sun and shadows to my advantage with the gradients, but they were too low in opacity for the first time around. I also figured out that my quote and picture did not have much to do together. It comes off as I am the delusional one. Maybe I was for adding so many dark layers. I did not have many inspirations for this piece. I kind of just went freestyle on this assignment.
